There's nothing quite like an hour or two of conversation each week to keep your English alive. 

In addition, the habits of recycling vocabulary and removing common errors in grammar and diction go a long way to help "not forget everything that I've learned in my life", to quote a few of my English conversation clients.

And to quote Confucius himself: "People's natures are alike; it is their habits that separate them."

Intensive English

3+ hours per week does not have to be a grind. We can discuss topics related to your interests and hobbies, the economy, the world in general, your work or studies, or even the idiots on social media.

The priority is to help you reach your goals without frying your brain.

The 4 Skills (CEFR)

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) gives us a clearly defined set of standards that you are required to reach if you are aiming to be certified from A1 to C2. 

For over 2 decades, I have helped students achieve their CEFR goals by improving their understanding of and capabilities in The 4 Skills.

Vocabulary & Idioms 

With so many "false friends" and confusing phrases and expressions in English, it is sometimes a good idea to "have a helping hand" so you do not "talk at cross purposes"!

We can work through a set of pre-prepared lesson plans on a wide range of vocabulary fields and genres.

If you are actively exposing yourself to content on the internet in English, we can also focus in on news articles, blog posts, twitter feeds etc..

Blended Grammar & Structure

Especially for you, I have a menu of grammar topics that you need to not only understand, but be able to use with confidence. We will identify them, understand their use and priorities, and practice what you learn with grammar drills.

In addition, I will help you to identify the clauses and connectors that you need in order to build your sentences and paragraphs effectively and accurately.

Websites & Social Media

We can brain storm your ideas based on your goals and the content that you want to create. 

Or I can just edit and proof read your creations!

IELTS (Academic or General)

What score do you need? 7.5 for a visa? 6.5 for a work permit? The Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking papers each has its own set of skill requirements.

An essential area to build is topic-related vocabulary. 

There is also a checklist of grammar I want to teach you! 

Through practice essays and speaking drills, the structure vocabulary that examiners expect from you will start to flow naturally. 

TOEFL iBT

I consider the TOEFL more difficult than the IELTS, so if you can do either, I’d recommend the latter. But fear not! If the TOEFL is your goal, we can focus on each of the 4 sections - Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing - question type by question type. 

Tips and tricks will make you even more confident on test day.
